When we leave the TV on and we’re not in the room, who are we leaving it on for? No One, that’s who. No One likes to waste energy. That’s why the Queensland Government has developed the ClimateSmart Home Service helping Queenslanders save money, energy and the environment.
For $50 a licensed electrician will visit your home and perform an energy efficiency service which can save up to $250 a year on energy and water bills.
The service includes:
- Installation of a wireless energy monitor for you to keep
- Up to 15 free energy efficient light globes supplied and installed
- Where suitable, a free water and energy efficient showerhead supplied and installed
- An energy audit
As part of the service you will also receive a customised energy and water efficiency plan and an online customised energy saving resource, called My ClimateSmart Home.
Residents undertaking the service can save a total of up to 20.4 tonnes of greenhouse gases. It is equivalent to taking more than four cars off the road for a full year.
A service like this would normally cost over $450, but with assistance from the Queensland Government you will pay just $50.
